FAQ's

What do you do for a living?
I work a regular 9-5 job at a University.  I really enjoy my day to day work and love knowing that no two days are ever the same!  I get to make a real difference to people's lives as well as my work crosses over into the community.  I'm a firm believer in the right of every individual to be treated with dignity and respect and my job also gets to encompass that!

Who are the Canterbury Players?
The Canterbury Players are this lot here.  They are a local Amateur Dramatics company and I have been involved with them since 2010.  They were a bit of a life-line to me when I was feeling rather low and have become more than a hobby.  I have made some of my best friends in the world with this group and they are more like a family.  I am now a committee member of the group which is incredibly interesting.  As a bonus I get to play on stage and act goofy which is always fun!

Why did you start blogging?
I used to keep diaries when I was little and for me this is a record that I will one day be able to show my children and grandchildren.  It is a documentary of our lives, our interests, our friends and most importantly our memories.

What camera do you use?
I actually use four!  I don't think you need to have a big fancy camera to blog with - I will frequently take photos on my camera phone (Samsung Galaxy SIII) or my iPad.  The camera I use the most is my Canon EOS M Compact System Camera. I love this camera as it is so small and light - it lives in my handbag!  I also have an older Nikon DSLR which I don't use as often as it is quite a lump to lug around but if I am going out with the sole intention to take photos (i.e. it's not a night out that I happen to be taking pictures at) then I will use the Nikon as it is a fabulous camera.  I still don't fully understand how to use them properly though but this blog is giving me the chance to learn!

What do you use to edit your photo's?
Most of them are unedited - I like showing places and people as they truly are.  Having said that I do occasionally use iPhoto editing to boost and enhance colour contrast.  Nothing fancier than that though!

Who designed your blog?
The lovely Maria from Crafty Owl designed my blog - she was a dream to work with, listened to all my ideas and even installed the design for me when I cried for help! She is based in Madrid and is really easy to get hold of. If you are looking for help with your blog design I would definitely recommend her!
